How US Overnight Trading Works
Hours
- Trade eligible US stocks and ETFs from 8:00 p.m. to 3:50 a.m. ET.
- Orders route to the overnight session only during these hours.
Eligible Orders
- Limit orders only.
- Time-in-force is Overnight.
- Orders do not carry into the regular session.
Pricing and Execution
- Quotes reflect the overnight session, not the regular market.
- Execution depends on available overnight liquidity.
Risk and Movement
- Prices can move quickly when news breaks.
- Spreads may be wider and volume lower than during the day.
Settlement
- Trades settle on the standard timeline for US equities.
