TWS Release Notes
These release notes document the major enhancements and bug fixes distributed in the current TWS version 935.
Required Java Update to Version 6
Effective with this release of TWS 935, users will no longer be able to run TWS using Java version 5 (1.5) or lower. Please upgrade to Java 6 to run TWS.
Note that Java is currently promoting version 7, but we still recommend that you download version 6 as there have been several identified bugs associated with the Java 7 release.

Improved Mosaic Market Scanner
The Mosaic Market Scanner now allows you to select a gradient, a bar, a value or a combination as the value display. Gradients and bars give users the ability to quickly peruse a list of scanner results and easily identify contracts with interesting properties without needing to read individual rows of values. Add value gradients and bars from the "Fields" selection area of the scanner setup wizard. In the Display field for an entry, click to show the available selections.
Gradient
The Gradient displays the field value as a colored, shaded circle that indicates the direction and degree of change. Red indicates negative and green indicates positive. Hold your mouse over a colored indicator to see the key for shading. Note in the image above that the Market Cap field is listed with a value of "None" but sorted from High to Low. This strategy will sort the scanner tickers by Market Cap without displaying the Market Cap field.
Bar
The Bar chart displays the field value graphically using a colored bar to indicate the direction and degree of change. Red indicates negative and green indicates positive. The length of the bar indicates the degree of change (the value). Bars that have values outside the hand-picked range will display a very bright section at the end of the bar to signify values outside the range.
In addition you can select:
- Values + Gradient - Displays the numerical value plus the graphical indicator.
- Values + Bar - Displays the numerical value plus the graphical bar indicator.
- None - Includes the field but does not display a field value.
Create Virtual Custom Securities
The Virtual Security feature provides the ability to view current pricing and chart historical pricing for a synthetic security that you create by entering an equation into our flexible Virtual Security Equation Builder. To create a virtual security, right-click in a blank line in TWS and select Virtual Security. Use the builder to design the virtual security. Once you have defined a Virtual Security and designated a ticker symbol, it can be used throughout TWS in the quote and analytical tools. It cannot be used in any of the trading tools.
Fixes
The following fixes and minor changes have been included in TWS 935.
- Charts - Additional bar denominations have been added to many of the Time Period charts, including (but not limited to): 1 day/1 minute bars, 2 Days/2 Minute bars, 1 Week/5, 10, and 15 Minute bars, 1 Month/15, 20, and 30 Minute bars.
