The Family Account structure is to be used by a natural person “Head of Family” (“HOF”) to manage, for free, the accounts of up to five other family members. The Family Master Account uses a single login to manage a maximum of 15 sub-accounts. The sub-accounts are limited to accounts held by family members or family-held investment vehicles.
A HOF can manage the accounts of up to 5 other family members/investment vehicles and a maximum of 15 sub-accounts.
The Family Account structure is distinct from professional advisor account structures that are used by registered investment advisors, investment managers or hedge fund managers. The “Head of Family” (“HOF”) must be a natural person who does not solicit clients or hold himself/herself out to be a financial advisor. Master accounts are provided with administrative functionality to manage up to 15 sub-accounts and cannot receive fees for managing the accounts.
The minimum age for opening a cash account is 18, while the minimum age for opening a margin account is 21.
Accounts are accepted from citizens or residents of all countries except citizens or residents of those countries or regions that are on the sanction list of the US Office of Foreign Asset Controls or similar lists, or other countries determined to be higher risk.
